WITH regard to Coun Lott’s letter referring to the ‘model railway group from somewhere in Northumberland’.
It is, in fact, the Blyth and District Model Railway Society who have for the last three years occupied premises in Little Bedford Street which is in his own Riverside Ward.
This society annually holds the biggest model railway exhibition in the north, at the Parks, and this year attracted over 2,000 visitors, who then spent money in the area of the Parks and Royal Quays, also in Riverside Ward.
Concerning the perceived lack of consultation on the North Shields Library, there was ample opportunity at members’ briefings and area forums, for questions and comments.
Members were informed of the need to refurbish and modernise the premises as some of the mechanical services are beyond repair and the residents of North Tyneside deserve the best, not more delays.
