AN Alnwick business has celebrated two decades of trading.

Handi Stationery in the Market Place opened on June 29, 1991, a Sunday during Alnwick Fair.

And the date also marks 31 years since owner Evelyn Dodd was involved in a motorbike accident which left her in a wheelchair.

The fair has since disappeared but, the business, which sells cards, staionery and other items, is still going from strength to strength.

To celebrate the anniversary, Evelyn put on drinks and nibbles for her customers.

She said: “Business is still good and we’re hoping to be here for at least another 20 years.

“I would like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have supported us for the last 20 years.

“It is all really appreciated.”
