A woman who got covered in paint for charity has won a year’s supply of fast food.

Nish Misra, 24, from Gosforth, took part in St Oswald’s Hospice Kaleidoscope 5k colour run earlier this year.

The charity had teamed up with the Nandos restaurant at Silverlink to offer the £500 prize for anyone who raised £100 – and Nish’s name was drawn out.

Nish said: “I just couldn’t believe it when I heard I had won! I never win anything, so it was a huge surprise.

“Ironically, I am actually a vegetarian, but I know Nandos do veggie options and all my friends love it there, so I will be treating them to a few trips to eat out.”

James Lorimer, assistant manager at Nandos Silverlink, added: “We were thrilled to have been part of St Oswald’s Kaleidoscope 5k. We had a team of 11 staff running on the day.

“Nando’s got involved as we like to support local charities.”

Gemma Crabb, fundraiser at St Oswald’s, said: “We are so pleased Nish had such a great time at the event and hope she enjoys her prize.

“A big thank you to James and the Nandos team for all their support.”

The St Oswald’s Kaleidoscope 5K is back in 2015, when it will take place on Sunday, June 21, at the Rising Sun Country Park in Wallsend.
