Thousands of people are expected to attend a life-saving organisations annual fundraising day.

Tynemouth RNLI Lifeboat Station is holding its annual Lifeboat Day at North Shields Fish Quay, on Sunday, July 19, from 11am to 3pm.

Lifeboat Day is a great opportunity for members of the public and their families to come and find out what their local RNLI station does

The day includes lifeboats in action, live music, stalls, attractions, children’s rides, burgers, hot dogs and the famous kippers in a bun.

One of the highlights will be the motorcycle rally and exhibition in the nearby Low Lights car park, organised by the Quay Motorcycle Club.

David Stenhouse, Tynemouth RNLI operations manager, said: “Lifeboat Day is a great opportunity for members of the public and their families to come and find out what their local RNLI station does, see the volunteer lifeboat crew in action, and have some fun at the same time.

“This is the 10th anniversary motorcycle rally and we’re very grateful for the long-term support from the club.”
