A quantity of cash has been stolen from a pub after three men threatened a member of staff.
Three men wearing masks forced their way into the Salutation Hotel, in Front Street, Tynemouth, at 4am on Monday, August 25.
They demanded the occupant, a woman in her 40s, open the safe and then made off with a quantity of cash.
The woman was not injured in the incident but was left shaken.
Police believe the three men were not armed.
Officers are carrying out enquiries and asking any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Andy Fairlamb said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim, although she was not injured she has been left shaken by what happened.
“Officers will be in the area, to carry out enquiries into the robbery and to offer reassurance to the local community.
“If anyone has any information, whether they heard or saw anything early this morning in or around Front Street, or know the identity of the men, I would urge them to contact police.”
