A group of tough guys are showing a softer side while raising money for charity.

Whitley Bay-based umbrella charity Angels of the North has entered four sponsored teams in the 10k Warrior Beach Assault 2015 that will be held on Whitley Bay beach and promenade on Saturday, March 28.

Members of the Advanced Fighting Centre in Newcastle will be participating and are raring to go.

The ten-kilometre course has more than 20 army-type obstacles including the challenging Jacob’s Ladder, Mud Bath, Over The Top and Giant’s Causeway.

Angels of the North is supporting five charities helping local children with severe disabilities – Our Milo, Out of Sight, My Daniel, Go Jo Jo, and Callum’s Wish to Walk.

Honorary chief executive Barbara Connors-Fowler said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from the public.”
