A leading training provider in the borough has been shortlisted for a prestigious national oil and gas award.
Advanced Industrial Solutions (AIS) is one of three companies being considered for the Top Employer for Engagement at OPITO’s National Oil & Gas Skills Week Awards in Aberdeen this week.
The company has spearheaded a number of initiatives to engage with local schools, colleges and universities in the North east, including a new partnership with Newcastle College to expand the facilities and training offered at its Energy Academy on the banks of the River Tyne.
Charlie Guthrie, from AIS, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards which attract hundreds of entries from all over the UK.
“At AIS we appreciate the importance of engaging with the education sector to create future generations of competent, flexible workers that the industry so desperately needs.
“We’re delighted that our efforts have been recognised and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the results in November.”
