Metro service suspended Saturday and Sunday

METRO services will be suspended all day Saturday and Sunday between Byker and Tynemouth to allow for modernisation work.

A bus replacement service 900 will be in operation and will call at or close to all stations in between.

Customers are advised to buy their Metro ticket on the bus replacement service and normal service will resume at start of service on Monday.

Richard McClean, managing director of Metro operator DB Regio said: “Inconvenience to passengers will be kept to a minimum as essential engineering work is carried out on the network.”
