AS always the Whitley Bay Pantomime Society last week of Dick Whittington at the Playhouse was a triumph.
The show, which this year was directed by Jeff Waites, who has run the Saturday Stage School at St Andrew’s Church, Monkseaton, for many years, brought fresh new talent to the stage with some principle parts being taken by the stage school members.
The costumes, always so creative and colourful, together with authentic scenery produced a family show which had character, tradition and much humour.
It was also true pantomime theatre to have a live orchestra.
Congratulations go to the Whitley Bay society on your 48th production and we look forward to the 49th in 2013, Humpty Dumpty, which promises to be a spectacular show.
