Tynemouth pupils put pen to paper in world record attempt – Video

BUDDING young writers have been putting pen to paper in a bid to set a new world record.

Pupils from the King’s School in Tynemouth officially launched the world record attempt with ‘The Book of Many Authors’.

It was all part of Children’s Book Fest 2012 which is being supported by more than 50 schools in the region.

The current world record for a published book with the most contributions is a comic book with 3,800 contributors, but those behind Children’s Book Fest 2012 are hoping to smash that.

They are touring the region with the novel, encouraging thousands of creative children to put pen to paper and help write the book.

Students at King’s were the first to contribute, producing the first lines for the book, which will go on show at the festival in September when they hope to have broken the record.
