ONE of Tyneside’s most popular hotels is celebrating a £50,000 makeover of its spa.

The former Healthworks section of the Village Hotel at Cobalt Silverlink has been transformed into Viva Urban Spa, a bigger, better, more relaxing aspect of the bustling hotel.

Set on the lower ground floor, you are welcomed into a classy, spacious reception area, now independent from the reception to the fitness suite at the hotel.

The deep purple and grey colours work perfectly to create an unwinding atmosphere within the spa, and that theme continues into luxurious treatment rooms.

Viva was officially opened on Wednesday night to a champagne reception, with guests including Miss Newcastle who presented customer Eileen Wainwright with a £1000 package for Viva after winning the prize draw.

The spa offers a vast range of relaxing massages to essential beauty treatments, and is a perfect host to spa packages with a specific area full of cushioned seats and sofas to relax in while other members of the group are enjoying a treatment.
