The manager of a vital borough Live At Home scheme is stepping down after 15 years at the helm.
Val Liddell is retiring as the manager of North Shields Live At Home, which is based at Hawkey’s Lane Methodist Church.
The scheme offers lunch and activities clubs, ladies assisted shopping, a men’s group, befriending, day trips and outings, hospital escort, and telephone support.
Jane Thompson, who has taken over as the new manager, said: “Val has left some very big boots to fill.
“It is a very daunting task.”
