Office volunteers have been showing their green fingers to transform a plot for charity.

Five staff from Procter and Gamble’s (P&G) financial solutions team at Cobalt Park joined forces with charity Changing Lives to tidy up a site at the Ocean Inn hotel in Whitley Bay.

The group potted plants, removed weeds, painted a picnic table and wall and bought and laid gravel to create a relaxing haven for residents.

A P&G team also carried out garden work at Changing Lives’ centre in Newcastle.

The charity provides specialist support services for vulnerable people and their families to help them make positive, lasting changes to their lives.

Kevin Waggott, from the scheme, said: “We are so grateful for the time dedicated by the volunteers. They enjoyed themselves and were keen to know more about what we do.”
