A rescue team are enjoying their new look premises thanks to a spring clean by volunteers.
Twenty staff from PII Pipeline Solutions took part in a spring clean at Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade’s watch house on the Spanish Battery in Tynemouth.
The tasks included brushing dust from the rigging of models, cleaning and polishing everything, scrubbing the floors and staircases, and painting window frames.
The volunteers were led by general manager Michael Bellamy and finance director Ippolito Boccola, with liaison from Dorothy Jones and Dave Bell, a TVLB captain and employee at PII.
A TVLB spokesperson said: “It is a labour of love for all brigade members to keep the Watch House as clean and tidy as possible and we are extremely grateful for PII Pipeline Solutions to give up their valuable time to come down and help us prepare the museum for a busy summer of visits and activities.”
