Volunteers are being sought to help out at a charity’s shops.

Age UK are looking for people to help out at their shops in North Shields and Whitley Bay.

The charity’s shops help raise money to support its work with older people.

Volunteers could support the shops through a range of activities – both behind the scenes and on the shop floor – including serving customers; merchandising and creating displays, managing stock donations; and assisting with shop administration.

Jeannette Pearman, shop manager the Age UK North Shields shop, said: “The Age UK shop in North Shields is reliant on the support of volunteers, so whether it’s for five minutes or five hours, we are delighted when anyone wants to support us.

“Not only will you meet new people and be a key part of the local community, you will also be helping Age UK raise vital funds to deliver a range services to help everyone make the most of later life.

“If you would like to help out please just pop in and talk us about how you can help.”

The money raised by Age UK’s shops will help the charity to support its local Age UK partners to deliver hands-on local services such as lunch clubs and home safety checks.
