Walking group heading north to take in Duke’s parkland

OLDER residents are being offered the chance to take in different scenery on a new walk.

The Age UK North Tyneside Walking Group is doing a seven-mile walk through the Duke of Northumberland’s land in Alnwick, taking in Hulme Park on Wednesday, May 16.

Meet at the Bradbury Centre, Saville Street West, North Shields at 9.15am for a coach departing at 9.30am.

It will return to the Bradbury Centre for 6pm.

Anyone aged 50 and over is welcome to attend.

Participants are recommended to wear sensible shoes for the weather and to bring a packed lunch.

There are regular monthly walks starting at a different Metro station or bus stop on the third Wednesday of each month, with a shorter stroll on the last Wednesday of the month.
