Staff at a care facility have been honoured for their work.
Howdon Care Centre, in Kent Avenue, Wallsend, hosted an awards ceremony to celebrate their long-term service and ROCK awards, while raising money for its residents’ fund.
Amanda Cunningham, care services director at Four Seasons Health Care, and Jacky Reed, regional manager for the area, joined guests at the award ceremony held at Wallsend Labour Club.
There were 17 long-term service awards handed out to staff who have worked there for more than10 years and three ROCK (Recognition of Care and Kindness) awards given to Richard Kennedy, Louise Faircloth, plus activitiies team Jade Richardson, Dawn Parr and Janet Storey who were all nominated by a resident or family member.
Following the awards ceremony guests enjoyed an evening of Michael Stevens and a Dandee disco playing games including ‘Stand Up Bingo’ and ‘Play Your Cards Right’, with a raffle and a tombola raising £424.40.
A spokespoerson for Howdon Care Centre said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their on going support and donations towards our various events they are very much appreciated.”
