RECYCLED bike racks have been installed at two Wallsend primary schools, to encourage more pupils to pedal to school.
St Peter’s C of E Primary School and Carville Primary School are the proud beneficiaries of the new bike racks for their respective playgrounds.
The racks were formerly used by cycling charity Sustrans, at their Newcastle offices before they donated them to the two schools.
It means the schools now have the capacity to safely store pupils’ bikes, meaning more children can cycle to school, rather than travel by car.
The racks were moved and installed at their new Wallsend locations by Kier North Tyneside.
