WHITLEY Bay’s water park will be closed for the remainder of the week due to a faulty water pump.
Work is being carried out by staff from North Tyneside Council to replace the pump and re-open the park as soon as possible.
Youngster can still play in the adjacent Whitley Park, which offers fun equipment for all ages, including a separate toddlers area complete with sandpits.
In the meantime, children looking for water fun can play at the nearby Waves which features a wave machine, a pirate ship with mini slides, water squirting geysers and three high-octane water flumes.
For a progress report on repairs to the water park, or for more information on Waves, visit www.northtyneside.gov.uk or call (0191) 643 2600.
