We’ll have play park if others don’t want it

I HAVE read the article about Beverley Terrace residents unhappy about a children’s play area being developed on the headland in Cullercoats (News Guardian, March 8).

The stock complaint for these things always orientates around the play areas attracting late night drinking teenagers.

Do teenagers only like to sit on top of slides and climbing frames whilst drinking?

I’m sure they would prefer the seats and cover of the shelter further along the road, which has been there for years. Or is that their nightclub?

If the local residents don’t want their park it would be greatly received at the far end of Whitley Bay, perhaps on the Brierdene fields or the Links.
