Top musician ‘The Modfather’ is heading to Tynemouth this summer after being announced as one of the acts at a popular outdoor festival.
Former The Jam and Style Council front man Paul Weller is the first artist announced for the Mouth of the Tyne Festival, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
The singer-songwriter will play a special outdoor concert at Tynemouth Priory and Castle on Saturday, July 12.
A hugely successful solo artist since the early nineties, the ‘Modfather’ will draw on a vast wealth of material when he takes to the Priory stage with his band, including songs from 11 top-ten albums.
Mayor Norma Redfearn said: “We are thrilled to welcome Paul Weller to our tenth anniversary festival and can’t wait to see him in action - it’s a great way to celebrate ten years of live music and entertainment at one of North Tyneside’s most iconic locations.”
Tickets costing £40 each, plus booking fee, go on sale from www.ticketmaster.co.uk at 9am on Thursday, February 27.
Further announcements about this year’s event will follow in the next few weeks. For more information, visit www.mouthofthetynefestival.com
