Preparations for 17 days of ‘creative mayhem’ are in full swing as more events and acts are announced for the Under the Dome Festival.
Kicking off on Saturday, July 18, It will be a summer which organisers hope will be talked about for years.
Adding to the already exhaustive list of events like a folk festival, story telling, community arts and a new arts and crafts exhibition, The whitley Bay Playhouse has announced two dates of hosting events.
The first date is The Demon Barbers on Saturday, July 18, and secondly Brendan Healy and the Festival Revue on Friday,July 31 to complete the Festival.
Since winning ‘Best Live Act’ at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2009 The Demon Barbers have been immersed in the development of their Folk and Hip Hop Dance Extravaganza The Lock In which was thoroughly enjoyed at the venue in 2012.
Tickets are priced at £15 for The Demon Barbers and £12 for the Brendan Healy and the Festival Revue and are on sale now.
In addition to this, The Northern Steel Orchestra will be performing at the festival on Wednesday, July 29 at 2.45pm and 3.45pm. which is free.
