WHITLEY Bay will embark on a 300-mile journey to the Suffolk and Essex border near Ipswich for their FA Vase fourth round tie.
Ian Chandler’s side have been drawn away to Brantham Athletic from the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League, the same league as three of Whitley’s former Vase opponents, Tiptree, Lowestoft and Wroxham.
Bay’s last visit to Suffolk was one of the most memorable occasions in the club’s history, when a 1-1 draw at Lowestoft in the semi-final second leg earned them their first ever trip to Wembley in 2009.
Fellow Northern League side Ashington face an even longer trip, more than 400 miles to Bodmin in Cornwall, while Vase holders Dunston UTS also have a lengthy journey south to Kent to take on Tunbridge Wells.
The ties are scheduled for Saturday, January 19.
