POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a derelict building was set on fire in North Shields.
The fire happened between 5.30pm on Wednesday, September 26, and 2pm on Thursday, September 27, at the Old Vicarage in Waterville Road, in North Shields.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended and put the fire out. Damage was caused to the inside of the building.
No one was in the building and noone was injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, police believe it was started deliberately and are treating it as arson.
