Woman racially abused in town centre

A woman was racially abused as she walked through North Shields town centre.

The 19-year-old victim was verbally abused as she walked near the Post Office, in Nile Street, on Tuesday, December 22.

The incident is believed to have happened at 5pm where a man approached the woman and shouted at the woman in an unprovoked attack.

Police are now appealing for help from the public.

The abuser is described as a white man, 6ft tall and of a broad build. He was wearing a navy blue jacket zipped up and dark pants.
