Woman rescued from rocks at Tynemouth

Rescue teams were called to Tynemouth today (Wednesday) after a woman got stuck on the rocks.

Crews from Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB) and Northumbria Police were called to the rocks near Collingwood’s Monument after the woman got stuck.

The rope rescue team from the TVLB, supported by officers, were able to reach the woman, free her from the rocks and help her back to safety, where she was checked over by paramedics.

A police spokesperson said: “At 2.10pm on Wednesday, February 18, police were informed a woman was on the rocks at the bottom of the cliffs at Collingwood Monuman in Tynemouth.”
