Historical writer Tim Lynch helped bring the past to life for pupils at Norham High School.

The visit, in association with North Tyneside Libraries to celebrate The Northern Childrens Book Festival, coincided with the 100 year anniversary of the First World War.

Tim served in the Falklands War and Northern Ireland as well as tours in Berlin and Kenya.

He talked to Year 9 and 10 historians about propaganda before and during the war. Pupils were also able to try an array of replica army equipment and weapons.
