UNLIKE the 1999 movie Fight Club, the first rule of the education charity Filmclub is that you do talk about it.
And Kieran and Connor McKenna, both of Seaton Delaval, will be doing just that after being picked to take part in a national talent development scheme for would-be film reviewers.
The 13-year-olds, both pupils at Seaton Delaval’s Astley High School, will attend training sessions and screenings in London over the next year.
Connor said: “We both love films and thought that it would be exciting to play a more active role in Film Club.
“I would love to be a journalist after I leave school and this experience will hopefully help me.”
The pair attend the school’s film club every Wednesday afternoon, where they can enjoy ice cream and popcorn, as well as a variety of movies.
Paul Richardson, who founded a film club at the school last year as part of the school’s enrichment programme, said: “Connor and Kieran are two of our star reviewers and it’s great that they have been rewarded for their commitment to Filmclub by being accepted on to the talent development scheme.”
