CREATIVE youngsters got the chance to test their talent at a special workshop.

A host of activities – including break-dancing, circus skills, parkour, media technology and singing – were held for 11 to 13-year-olds at the free ‘So you wanna do ....’ event.

The youngsters tried out the activities in a day of workshops held at the Linskill Centre in North Shields, most of which were delivered by other young people who have developed their passion and skills in their chosen art from participating in the somewhereto_ programme.

Craig Cheel, of Apeuro parkour, said: “Working with somewhereto_ has given us a chance to have our own space that we can teach weekly free-running classes to people of all ages.

“Through this we have been able to vastly increase our teaching skills and are now looking to help other young people get involved in the sport and it’s great ‘So you wanna do...’ can help us to do this.”

The project, delivered in partnership with North Tyneside Council’s Widening Horizons 4 All programme, is an opportunity for youngsters to experience different and unusual art forms.
