FOR the last seven years I have had the honour to play Last Post at the Services of Remembrance for the Tyneside Branch of the Royal Army Service Corps and Royal Corps of Transport Association.
I never charged or asked for any expenses as the association and its hard working and kind members helped my family and myself after I had a bad car crash.
So I was surprised and moved to receive the Branch Certificate of Achievement at the AGM in North Shields Catholic Club.
I was presented with the award by Phil Thompson, chairman of the association.
Please may I use your letters page to send my thanks to every member, not just for this award, but for everything they have done for me and countless other people on Tyneside.
