BROCKWELL Middle School beat off stiff competition to make it to the final of the Year 6 Killingworth Rockets Beefeater Cup.
The Cup is a school competition organised by Killingworth Rockets RLFC and sponsor Beefeater, at Moor Farm.

It is a cross county competition that brings together schools who would not normally get the chance to compete against each other due to th
eir location.

This year saw Burradon, Amberley, Forest Hall, Brockwell, Shiremoor, Monkseaton, New York, and Whitehouse schools take part.

Brockwell Middle School have been receiving rugby league coaching in partnership with the North East Rugby League and Northumberland Sport.

After only having four sessions, Brockwell beat many experienced schools in convincing fashion to make it to the final of the cup.

Unfortunately a vastly experienced side, Whitehouse Primary, were to good for the brave Brockwell players.

Brockwell coach Steven Beaty said: "These kids are what rugby league is all about respect, resilience and determination. They have been a pleasure to coach."

Anyone interested in playing or getting involved in rugby league should contact Killingworth Rockets head coach Steven Beaty on 07877 041733 or e-mail sbeaty_rl@yahoo.co.uk
