WHITLEY BAY have moved quickly to sign Catherine Clough a young goalkeeper who has just graduated from Sunderland's Centre of Excellence.
Catherine, 16, from Seghill, found herself third in line at Sunderland behind England Internationals Helen Alderson and Rachel Laws, and was delighted when Whitley were in touch.

Whitley's Manager Colin Phillips is pleased with his new signing. He said: "Catherine has great natural ability and a presence about her that is rare in someone so young.

"She has had excellent coaching at the Sunderland Centre of Excellence and we are pleased that she will continue her development here at Whitley Bay."
