Course aimed at budding goalkeepers

BUDDING young shot-stoppers are being offered to chance to hone their skills at a goalkeeping course which starts this weekend.
The six-week course for boys and girls aged from seven to 17 runs at John Spence Community High School on Saturday mornings between 10am and 11am from September 6.

Sessions will cover the main techniques and skills of goal-keeping including handling, footwork, diving, shot-stopping, crossing, and small-sided games.

Participants on the course should bring warm clothing, goalkeeping kit, football boots and trainers, plus a drink.

The full course costs £20, or £4 per session.
