TYNEMOUTH Amateur Swimming Club (TASC) Diddy squad pulled off a great display at Middlesbrough ASA.
The third round of the 2008 Speedo 'diddy' league saw TASC pull together to achieve a well earned second place.

The swimmers, some as young as eight, demonstrated team spirit and maturity.

Coach Tracey Booth said: "This has followed weeks of tr
aining and commitment by the swimmers, parents and coaches. I was proud of all the team."

The swimmers were outstanding, however, special mention must be made to Matthew Morley (nine-year-old boys) who stepped in to replace a missing team mate and swam fantastically.

Alice Smith (nine-year-old girls) obtaining a first in the 25m backstroke and Shaunagh Kelly (ten-year-old girls) who won the 50m butterfly, despite performing as Jemima in Chitty Bang Bang in Sunderland.

TASC has achieved great success recently and several swimmers attended the NER Gala in Sheffield.

TASC also hold its own Gala on May 17 with swimmers from across the region competing.

TASC is planning overseas training for some of its very talented young swimmers and any sponsorship small or large would be gratefully received.

TASC can be contacted via its web page or e-mail tynemouthasc@hotmail.co.uk
