In the premier league, the Spring A – fresh from winning the Black Horse Knockout Doubles final on Monday night – welcomed the Vic and Albert to North Shields.

dismissed their opponents with a 9-0 thrashing.
A result which leaves the Vic perilously close to the Premier League trap door.
The Seahorse A were desperate for a good result when entertaining the Northumberland Arms B to keep alive any hopes of catching the league leaders and following this 5-4 win those hopes may have been extinguished.

Elsewhere there were wins for the Spring B, 6-3 at the Berkeley, and the Black Horse, 7-2 at home to the Seahorse B.
In the first division, with PJ's having a free week, the Albert B would have been looking at opening up a gap at the top of the table, this did not go quite as planned following a 5-4 defeat at third placed Residence B.
The Townhouse cemented their top half position as they dispatched the Hunting Lodge 7-2 while the Station must be kicking themselves following their 6-3 home defeat to the Red Lion.
Finally the Albert A welcomed the Fat Ox to North Shields and will be satisfied with their 5-4 win.
The premier league now shows the Spring A top on 186 points followed by the Seahorse A on 170.
The King Street lie third with 163 before a massive 23 point gap to the fourth placed Northumberland Arms B.
