Second and third, The Seahorse A and the King Street, met each other in North Shields.
In an obviously close match, it was the home team who triumphed 5-4.
This was the same score at the Seahorse where the B team beat the Residence A and at the
Victoria and Albert and the Redburn, although in both these matches it was the away teams – the Blake and the Berkeley Tavern – who took the spoils.
Finally in the Premier League, the Black Horse travelled to the Spring Gardens to play the B team and will be content with their 6-3 away win.
The first division was hit by late postponements this week as both the Albert A and V.I's were unable to field full teams.
Elsewhere, P.J's closed the gap at the top following their 9-0 win at the Fat Ox while the Albert B managed a 7-2 win at home to the Station.
In the only other game of the night, the Townhouse travelled to the Red Lion and sneaked home with a 5-4 victory.
This leaves the Premier League table with the Spring Gardens A top on 193 followed by the Seahorse on 174 and the King Street third on 168 points but with a game in hand.
In the first division, the Albert B are top on 173 followed by PJ's on 172 and the Residence B on 155
