• Meanwhile Preston Grange Primary School and Denbigh Primary School competed in the Tyne and Wear schools tennis finals at the Puma Tennis Centre, Sunderland.
Both teams did well with Denbigh coming eighth and Preston Grange, despite winning more tennis matches than any other team, third.
Having won the North Tyneside competition, Preston Grange were joined by runners-up Priory girls due to the mixed nature of the tournament.
Tennis development officer Stuart Cass and tennis coach Aaron Mpofu said they were both proud of their teams and how they competed on the day.
Entry forms are available now for the 6th LTA sanctioned North Tyneside Junior Open tennis tournament held the first week of the summer holidays at Collingwood and Cullercoats tennis clubs.
