WHITLEY Bay and Tynemouth 2nd XI began what promises to be a tough season with a difficult away fixture to Wilton 1sts.
With many new players in the set up it is going to take a while for things to gel.

Wilton weathered early Tynemouth pressure to catch them on the break and score.

A well struck shot later in the half meant a 2-0 score line at the interval, despite a number of saves by Neal Parker in goal.

A change of formation at half-time helped Tynemouth dominate the first ten minutes of the second half, with some crisp passing play and incisive running, leading eventually to James Lowery scoring to get the visitors back in the game.

However, fitness began to tell as the second half progressed.

The final ten minutes was not pretty, with the ball being given away to Wilton.

A Parker parry could only give the ball to a Wilton player to score a third, and the final touch of the game made the score line 4-1 to Wilton.
