AN event to mark 100 days until the Olympics is to be held next week.
The North of Tyne Athletics Network (NOTAN) is organising a come and try it athletics day on Wednesday from 4.30pm to 7.30pm at Churchill Playing Fields in Whitley Bay.
The session will be a fun-filled evening with music, food, a raffle, an inflatable pole vault, throwing, running, jumping, relays, tug of war and more to suit everyone.
One of the most important people to ensure clubs and events can run is volunteers, without them there would be no coaches for the athletes and nothing would be possible.
The organisation is looking for more volunteers and for those interested in coaching, being part of the committee, helping out at odd event, being an official or helping with the tea and coffees.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering at the event or for the clubs should contact network co-ordinator Victoria Spence at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07807 039541.
Alternatively, anyone who would like any more details attend the event.
