Allotment A come unstuck against Blyth Isabella

West Allotment Celtic A fell to a 3-1 defeat in their opening Northern Alliance league match against Blyth Isabella.

Allotment A did take the lead with Dan Haggerstone firing the away side in front with a rocket of a shot from the edge of the area, but two goals from Daniel Long and one from Dean Ogle were enough to give Blyth all three points.

The young Allotment side, formed as a result of a partnership with Whitley Bay Boys Club, could not be too disappointed as Allotment were out battled on the day and the hosts would have won by a greater margin was it not for an outstanding performance by goalkeeper Jack Thompson, who pulled off a number of excellent saves to keep Isabella at bay.

Allotment A will be look to bounce back and register their first league points against Wideopen on Wednesday evening before turning their attention to fellow new club Gateshead Leam Rangers on Saturday.
