WHITLEY Bay FC Barca Under-9s maintained their title challenge with a convincing victory over a team that had knocked them out of the cup only weeks before.
Barca were on the front foot from the first whistle and exerted constant pressure on the Bedlington goal, and it came as no surprise when Dreyer opened the scoring with a crisp finish from a fluent passing move.
The second quarter followed the pattern of the first with Barca scoring twice through two close range Owen Armstrong finishes following good approach play from new striker Jack Tatum.
Dreyer notched his second at the start of the third quarter when calmly taking the ball round the keeper before a composed side foot finish from Diamond brought up the fifth.
The strong defensive trio of Wills, Coulson and Smith in goal were finally breached when Bedlington pulled a goal back.
Barca continued to create clear chances in the last quarter but could only add one more to their tally when captain Bobby Johnson fired past the demoralised keeper.
