A hectic month during which they have played eight games draws to a close when Whitley Bay travel to Newton Aycliffe on Saturday.
The County Durham side have had mixed fortunes so far this season with a change in management disrupting their progress.
They currently lie in 15th place with just three wins from their nine games.
This would suggest that Whitley will be favourites, but they have won only once in their three previous visits to Moor Lane Park and cannot afford to be complacent if they are hoping to improve on that record.
A year ago they suffered a disappointing a 3-1 defeat, Paul Chow scoring the only goal.
With Paul Robinson back in the ranks there is a new optimism among Bay fans, who are expected to turn up in large numbers, possibly outnumbering the home support.
With no game scheduled in midweek, Leon Ryan and his management team will have the luxury of a full week to prepare their side for the important FA Vase second qualifying round game at home to South Shields on Saturday, October 4.
