WHITLEY Bay head for Teesside on Saturday to take on Billingham Town, a side currently showing their best form of the season after struggling near the foot of the table for several months.
Town have won their last four home games, the most recent victory being a 2-1 success in the local derby against Billingham Synthonia on Monday.
Last season, a leg weary Whitley Bay suffered a comprehensive 4-1 defeat in the corresponding fixture during the run up to the FA Vase final against Coalville.
However, when the sides met at Hillheads in December, Whitley won 5-2 with two goals apiece for Chris Fawcett and Paul Chow.
With last week’s holiday absentees now available, Bay boss Ian Chandler should have a bigger squad to choose from as he attempts to keep Whitley ahead of Ashington as the two sides compete for fifth place in the table.
