HOT on the heels of Whitley Bay FC’s record-breaking FA Vase triumph, one of the Seahorses under-14 sides has given the club further reason to celebrate by wrapping up the NABC third division title and promotion to the second tier with two matches to spare.
Whitley Bay Milan is overseen by manager Steve Smith and coach Tom Seymour, who have been impressed by the attitude and performance of the youngsters over the season.
“A measure of their form during this season can be found in the fact that they narrowly lost a divisional cup semi-final to highly regarded top tier Wallsend Boys Club on penalties after two full periods and extra time could not separate the sides,” said Smith.
“They never know when they are beaten and are equally strong in defence, midfield and attack,” added Seymour, who also praised their hard work and positive attitude to training.
The team are looking forward to next season and have set their sights high by looking to achieve back to back promotions to reach the top division.
