HAVING defeated Newcastle East End Blues the previous week, it was the Reds’ turn to taste defeat to the ever-improving Whitley Bay Boys’ Club Under-10s Blacks.
Stout defending and some fine saves from the East End keeper kept the score down to two in the first half with goals from Armstrong and Maddison.
The Blacks continued to spray the ball around in the second half and six further goals were added as the opposition began to tire.
Armstrong finished with four, Maddison three and Perry grabbing the eighth.
The Blacks’ defence and keeper were largely untroubled throughout.
