Blyth Last Orders continue march to division title

For the third time in five weeks Broomhill North End Trap lost as they entertained Burradon and New Fordley in the Standard Security Byth and Wansbeck Sunday League premier division.

This time the score was 3-0 to the Fordley side with Dale Pearson, Callum Colbeck and Michael Chilton on target.

Blyth Comrades played host to North Shields Wooden Doll but lost out 3-2 in a close contest. Terry Self and Robert Ridley scored for Comrades but goals from Mitch Rennie, Lee Kelly and Nicky Thompson won it.

Division one saw leaders Blyth Last Orders continue on their way to the title after an 8-1 home win over Blyth United Services. On target for Last Orders were Ross Gilchrist, Daryl Pendleton, Chris Watson, Andrew Scott, Chris McCartney, Martyn Hepple, Chris Davison and Mathew Crook. Stephen Hardy scored for Services.

AE Phoenix Central edged past Marden Residents 4-3. Mark Taylor (3) and Daniel Carr scored for the Phoenix with Chris Ridgeway, Brian Watson and Paul Richardson replying for Residents.

High Street continued their good run with a 4-2 win at Guide Post. Mathew Wilkinson and Scott Hunt were on target for the home side while Jason Smart led the scoring for the Street with two. Anthony Marshall and Anthony Goldie completed the scoring.

On Sunday, Buarradon and New Fordley are in the final of the NFA Sunday Cup at Whitley Park Benton against Wallsend New Rising Sun with a 10.30am kick off.

In addition, Blyth Last Orders are playing Red Lion Bedlington in the Saints Shield Final at Bedlington Terriers ground with a 10.30am kick-off.
