Blyth Town make it ten wins out of ten games in Northern Alliance

In the Northern Alliance Newcastle Building Society premier division, Blyth Town’s title defence shows no signs of letting up as they made it ten wins from ten games.

Malcolm Morien struck twice and Stephen Howes, David Atkinson and Ian Lee got the others in a comprehensive if hard-fought victory over bottom side Hebburn Reyrolle.

Carlisle City’s Marc Shiel slammed in a hat-trick as the Sky Blues came from behind twice to beat Red House Farm. Sean Bannon added two more and Rob McCartney the other with Nathan Sopp and Martin Soulsby netting for the visitors.

Alex Benjamin also helped himself to the match ball in Killingworth Station’s win over Wallington. Lee Hamilton and Paul Dunn also beat the keeper while John Paxton struck twice in reply.

Tony Thirkell (2), Ben Gardner and Kev Hay were Whickham SC’s marksmen in a thrilling success at Ashington Colliers, who had Joe Moscrop, Jamie Patterson and Joseph Bolam on target.

A Dean Imray own goal got Shankhouse on their way at Walker Central, with further strikes from Lee Gustard and Daniel Young sealing the points.

Another own goal made up one of Northbank’s scores in their draw with North Shields Athletic. Tom Lucock got the other and a Lee Crammond double spared his team-mate’s blushes.

Darren Turnbull’s early opener for Rutherford was cancelled out by Seaton Delaval’s Tom Phillips.

In the Nike division one, leaders Percy Main remain five points clear at the top after second half strikes from Sam Thompson and Chris Laidlaw gave them a win against Wooler.

Cullercoats scorers were Hylton Laws (2), John Amos and Michael Moor as they beat Ponteland United.

Chris Glass, Jordan Burgess, Josh Monaghan, Keiran Hills and Mark Race (2) were on the scoresheet for Bedlington Terriers Reserves as they hit Heddon for six.

Pete Hall produced two fine finishes for Boheminas in their win at Cramlington Town with Dan Ure adding the other.

Birtley Saint Josephs were trailing to a Craig Towart strike for AFC Newbiggin but turned things around with goals from Luke Steele and Ryan Moore.

In the Bay Plastics division two, Newcastle Benfield Reserves went level on points with Shilbottle at the top of division two as Michael Baxter (2), Michael Todd, Connor Brown and Aldair Batista struck at High Howdon. The home side replied through Chris Marshall, Scott Dodds and Kane Chirnside in a thriller.

Longbenton’s Connor Graham hit a hat-trick against Cramlington United but the Bulls were made to sweat for the points. Tony Woods and Paul Pescod added other with United scoring through Martin Kelly (2), Niall Younger and Ben Davidson.

Ryan Taylor stuck a double in Alnwick Town Reserves win at West Allotment Celtic A. Matty Hunter and Neil McFall also beat the keeper, Joe Deverdics replying.
