Burradon and New Fordley reach another cup final

Burradon and New Fordley did a quick double over Broomhill North End Trap in the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League.

After lifting the Alan Davison Cup the previous week, they won 3-0 at home in the semi-final of the SA Randolph Cup with goals from Michael Chilton, Scott Pocklington and Michael Hall.

They will now meet Ashington Bubbles in the final on Sunday, April 26, at Bedlington Terriers’ Welfare Park.

In the premier division, Blyth and Tyne and Ashington Bubbles produced eight goals between them with Blyth and Tyne winning 5-3. Goals for Tyne came from Kris Coppen, Ian Locke, Gary Adamson, Darren Walker and keeper Arron Barber, from a penalty. On target for Bubbles were Kris Allington (2) and Daniel Allington.

Forest Hall won 1-0 at against Blyth South Beach through a late Connor Rafferty goal.

Ashington Grand went down 4-2 at home to North Shields Wooden Doll. Goals for Grand came from Ross Crate and Brent Aisbitt. For Wooden Doll, Nicky Thompson (2), Mitch Rennie and Michael Starkie were on target.

Division one leaders Blyth Last Orders continued their unbeaten run towards the title with a 5-1 victory at Marden Residents. Kevin Salmon scored for the home side with Chris McCartney (2), Martyn Hepple, Andrew Scott and Ross Gilchrist.

Blyth United Services went down 7-0 at home to High Street with Anthony Goldie and Jack Anderson both with hat-tricks and Alan Goldie completing the scoring with a penalty.

Guide Post also had a good win at home, 7-2 against FC Beacon. Leading the scoring for the home side was Mathew Wilkinson with a hat-trick, with Scott Swinney (2), Peter Allaway and Ashley Duff also on target. Stuart Main scored both goals for Beacon.

The Standard Security Blyth & Wansbeck Sunday League are looking for new clubs to join in the season 2015-16.
