Burradon and New Fordley to play Broomhill in cup final

Burradon and New Fordley and Broomhill North End Trap will contest the David Crichton Cup final in the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League.

Fordley side went through on Thursday night, defeating Red Lion Bedlington 8-0. Dale Pearson led the scoring with a hat-trick. Further goals came from Joe Bestford, Josh Miller, Ian Lee, Callum Colbeck and Scott Pocklington.

Broomhill reached the final by winning 5-0 at Ashington Station Lounge with goals from Chris Godfrey (2), David Mavin, Kevin Bell and Peter Murray.

The tie will be played at Broomhill’s ground on Sunday, August 30, with a 10.30am kick-off.

League games got under way with Red Lion Bedlington winning 6-1 at Forest Hall. Michael Jordan scored for the home side, but goals from Reece Farrell (2), Shaun Cowell, Jordan Bellamy, Liam Hornsby and Adam Harvey sealed the win.

Bedlington Social Club went down at home 2-0 to Blyth Last Orders with Mathew Crook scoring both goals.

Red Lion Earsdon won 4-2 at home against Isabella Blyth. Charlie Thompson (2), Les Thompson and Mitchell Rennie were on target for the home side with goals for the Isabella coming from Patrick Allen and Jason Hamilton.

In division one, goals from Leeroy Odd (3), Marc Hunter (3) and Ross Seaman earned Marsden Residents a 7-0 win at East Chevington.

In an Ashington derby, it was Northern who came out on top against Whitehouse with Richard Stobbard scoring the only goal.

Cramlington Green won 3-2 at home against Ashington Sporting Club. Scott Lowrey (2) and Kevin Marshall scored for the home side with Scott Neal netting both for Sporting Club.

Guide Post SC saw off visitors Blyth United Services 2-1 with goals from Michael Greaves and Andrew Lisle. Gavin Agnew notched the consolation.

Newsham Victory won 5-4 at home against FC Beacon. Chris Yellowley and Daniel James both scored twice for the home side with Jordan Wright completing the scoring. Ian Marsh (2), Michael Lamb and Ryan Walton replied for Beacon.
