This time last year Whitley Coast Soccer had eight girls playing in one team.

They now have more than 30 players training across four age groups and are flying the flag high for girls’ football in North Tyneside.

Coast Soccer Under-10 girls won the NGFL Cup final in a tightly fought battle with AE Phoenix.

Repeatedly coming from behind, they pulled back two goals to draw level in the last quarter to force the game into extra time, eventually winning 6-5.

The under-10s are now looking for a few extra players (Year 5) so next year they can win the cup and league.

Coast Soccer Under-12 girls won the Cramlington seven-a-side tournament at the weekend beating Cramlington United, Cramlington Town and Cramlington Girls on the way, before winning the final 1-0 in a close match with Washington.

The under-12s are moving up to nine-a-side next season and are looking for players to add to their current squad (Year 7).

Coast Soccer are also looking for players to add to the new under-9 team, girls in Year 3 and 4.
